MYTHOLOGY- Arachne, renowned in Greece for her lifelike tapestries, boasted her talent rivaled the gods. This drew the attention of Athena, goddess of handcrafts, who challenged her to a weaving contest. Before a growing audience, Athena wove a tapestry showing the consequences of mortal hubris, while Arachne's depicted the gods' flaws. Angered by Arachne's boldness, Athena cursed her, transforming her into a spider. Arachne's descendants inherited her fate, weaving intricate webs, thus leaving a lasting legacy in art and nature.

DESIGN- The character designs for these were inspired by Greek sculptures, crafted in marble. Arachne, here, takes a good look at the tapestry she wove. She is given another set of eyes like that of a spider and her arms are also a part of the set of 8 legs. Decorations on her abdomen is inspired from weaving spiders.
Athena looks down on her with dominance in her powerful armor.
